When I saw this news, I was dumbfounded. Gosh you can actually feel that sharp pain in the heart!! I actually can't stop my tears running down as I read on such irresponsible act.
I am too heavy-hearted right now to write a post about this yet another heart-breaking "human kills nature" story. It's about our beautiful Sipadan Island.

Sad truth is, even without such incidents, just our present way of life is damaging the world we depend on and is not sustainable.
But like the man who jumped off a tall building said when he was half way down, "so far so good".
The bright side of such disasters as the Siadan reef damage is that they draw attention to the problems we are creating.
Al Gore is travelling around promoting his movie about climate change and appears to be getting a lot of positive press. Perhaps people are ready for action.

My former colleague who was at Sipadan last year really enjoyed the diving there. After the kidnapping incident, there are now national guards on duty equipped with rifles. Scary!
I read the link you gave and it is appalling. It can happen so easy though.
I've heard someone is dredging a sandbar near our beloved islands of Vorovoro and Mali,to sell the sand. What if they touch the reefs there! They shouldn't even touch the sandbar!
I wrote a letter to someone who lives nearby but got no answer yet.

Malaysia (still) break into two worlds: Private sector and government agency. Both have their own agenda (not totally wrong, of course) so maybe it's time we should consider the third world: Non-governmental, non-profit organizations.
